On December 7th, every year, the United States observes Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to honor and show respect to those who lost their lives in the surprise attack by Japanese military forces. The anniversary of the attack is commemorated with various events to recognize the importance of peace, unity, and preparedness in the face of adversity. It also serves as a platform for survivors of the attack and their families to share their stories. Until sunset, the flag is flown at half-staff as a symbol of mourning.
